Saltwater
The MV Alpha & Omega is a 26′ heated cabin cruiser. Skippered by our U.S. Coast Guard Licensed fishing guide, it includes top quality rods, reels, bait, tackle and electronics. Days are at least 8 hours on the water, sometimes longer (unless you decide to come back early). We have the range to reach the furthermost pinnacles that rarely get fished. We target halibut, King and Silver salmon, ling cod and rockfish.
Freshwater
If stream fishing is what you’re here for, we’ve got you covered! The island has many streams and lakes to choose from and produces healthy native runs of Dolly Vardon, Cut-Throat and Rainbow Trout, Steelhead, Red, Chum, Pink and Silver Salmon. Your guide will be there to make sure your experience is the best it can possibly be. He will take you to different streams and holes, show you where fish are laying. You can bring your own favorite rods or we will provide spinning gear for you. Don’t be intimidated if you are not a fly fisherman, jigs and spinners are also effective methods to catch these fish. If you would like to try fly casting, we would be glad to give you lessons.
Guided Steelhead Fishing
As you cast your fly into the tail-out you watch it start to swing then… suddenly it stops. Instinctively you set the hook without feeling anything, the water explodes! The battle is on! There is a steelhead at the end of your line with your fly in the corner of its mouth. Run after run your drag is tested, your line is tested, you are exhilarated. You came to hook a steelhead but in reality you are the one who is hooked. Our Steelhead runs are world class with fish reaching the 20 pound mark, few things can match the excitement of catching a native run steelhead. Your guide will be there to make sure your experience is the best it can possibly be. He will take you to different streams and holes, show you where fish are laying, and take pictures of you and your catch. You can bring your own favorite fly rods or we will provide spinning gear you. Remember, Dolly Vardon, Cuttroat and Rainbow trout will be in these same waters so two separate rods are ideal. Don’t be intimidated if you are not a fly fisherman, jigs and spinners are also effective methods to catch steelhead, however if you would like to try fly casting we would be glad to give you lessons. Adventure Alaska Southeast, LLC prides itself on the catch and release of all Steelhead.
